Characters
In this storyworld every character we meet is totally incapable of changing the climate situation. Everyone is either stupid, naive or careless. The different characters we meet have traits in different combinations. Some are mainly stupid and actively makes things worse by their actions - whereas others are carelessly not taking even the simplest and easiest of measures to prevent the situation from deteriorating. Depending on their species the different characters have one or more personally traits stand out but all traits are represented in all character categories.
ANIMALS: All animals in this storyworld can talk. They both able to talk to each other
and to humans. There are 2 types of animals - the wild ones living in the nature and the domesticated ones living with the rich people in the gated glass communities. The wild animals are the ones suffering the most. They are either harassed by intrusive tourists who want to have their picture taken with them or they suffer in uninhabitable areas where pollution is so severe that they have to deal with an everyday struggle for survival.
There is not much food to catch as more and more species are becoming extinct. Their grisly fate is a life of dangerous smell and famine. The penguins are some of the first wild animals we are introduced to. They lost their home at the South Pole when it all melted away so they have been forced to move to the North Pole - and they hate it. They see themselves as a minority group and they are not very well integrated at the North Pole. They are not very well received and they are now gathered in huge groups making penguins ghettos wherever they can. On the other hand the house animals are doing much better. If they are ever outdoors their owners give them special gas masks in which a small tree in the mask provides them with clean and healthy oxygen. The house animals are very snobbish and will not have any contact with the wild animals. They see them as dirty and less worthy than them since they have been taken in as pets and therefore are hygienic and healthy. The conflict between the two animal populations is rising. When the pets meet the wild animals they will not talk to them. The wild animals blame the pets for their owners polluting habits and the pets can’t help laughing when their owners look at the wild animals suffering outside in the smoke. The situation is getting worse and worse leading to a cold and harsh animal war.

HUMANS: Humans are almost as we know them in the real world, just with less variety. Most people are just following the paths of others. Everything is about having the biggest house and the coolest car. The more money you make the higher status you get. The world is ruled by a capitalist mindset and the difference between rich and poor is extreme. Many teenagers are full of ideas and opinions and they have started a rebel against this social organization. They become eco-activists which main focus is to make a difference, however this is not something they are passionate for for long since most people realize when getting older that it’s an impossible battle to win. Then they become like their parents - super consumers. They get promoted, become a part of the corporate world, working almost 24-7, living and breathing for their vacation. Both while working and in their spare time, they’re contributing to the destruction of the nature, something they once fought against.
THE COORPORATE WORLD: From the highest floors in the skyscrapers “the suits” are blindly creating a bigger and bigger industry. Ever since the finance crisis destroyed everything back in 2007 they have been working hard to re-establish the world economy. And they have succeeded. The industry is working, people are buying, travelling and wasting. But none of them are thinking or looking. Outside their windows the world is headed towards total destruction and they couldn’t care less. This group of characters are the antagonists in our storyworld.
TOURISTS: The tourists are absolutely not aware of how their behaviour affects the climate changes. They are just ignorantly enjoying travelling around. They don’t see the problems and when they for example arrive to the North Pole, they’re just amazed by getting so close to the animals and to have the possibility to get such amazing pictures of them. They don’t realize that the reason they are actually able to get so close is because the ice is getting smaller and smaller.
The tourists represent the group of humans who are extremely naïve. They believe what all the commercials and the corporate world tells them. A lot of the tourists are working in the corporate world themselves and therefore they don’t want to see the consequences of their action in their professional
nor private life. They are just pursuing their own happiness.

ECO ACTIVISTS: Completely opposite from the tourists we have the eco hippies. They are young and they care. They care about everything. And they protest and make demonstrations whenever they have the chance. These demonstrations don’t lead to anything. They want to save everything. Every tree, every flower and every animal and whatever they can find to save. Their problem is that they don’t know how. They smoke way too much weed and care way too much about looking like an eco activist than actually taking action. No one in the corporate world listen to them, they just feed them with Mc. Donalds hamburgers when they have been standing outside their offices for too long. Most eco activists stop their “career” when they get older and find themselves in a life situation that requires a certain economic standard.
