The world of meltdown
All over the world, humans and animals are experiencing theramifications of Global Warming. The extreme weather and the rising seas have brutal consequences. Humans and animals are dying from heat, pollution and starvation. Fewer and fewer places are inhabitable and overpopulation is exploding. The gap between the fortunate safe and the unfortunate in daily peril is growing by the hour and the social unrest is present in all aspects of life. Adding insult to injury a vile smell is creeping into the equation as well.
South of the equator the weather is so hot you can hardly breath. Because the South Pole has melted away it has released a lot of methane gas making everything smell like fart. Apart from the terrible smell the gas also has an effect similar to sniffing glue. Anyone staying outdoors are immediately intoxicated and staying for extended periods will cause permanent brain damage.

To stay safe, the wealthy have created gated communities fortified inside greenhouses. In order to keep the fart gasses from getting in entry is highly restricted and access allowed only for the residents. Especially in Australia there is abundance of gated communities where predominantly white people live. Outside the aboriginals are suffering massively in the polluted air. In Africa, the situation is horrific. Most places the temperature is above 90 degrees Celsius.
The rich and fortunate can cope inside their gated communities with high tech advanced air conditioning systems keeping the temperature at pleasant levels. The situation is much more painful for the people who live on the unprotected outside. Every time they are not in the shadow they risk burning to death. In Africa the rich people have arranged this annual race, inspired by Hunger Games, where poor black
people volunteer to run a marathon and who ever survive the race, wins a house in the gated community. Up until this day no one has ever survived the race.

In Asia there are an extreme difference between rich and poor too. The rich people are living in very high towers rising above the gasses. The poor are living on the ground surrounded by gas and smoke from all the factories.
Both in Northern Europe and Northern America the sea level is rising due to the melting ice. All towns and cities at the water line are totally flooded and underwater transportation has replaced the traditional infrastructure.
Fast food are sold from inflatable booths and underwater restaurants to busy business people having meetings. In the northern part of the world the counting North Pole, Canada and Russia, the temperature is rising and the ice is melting. You are able to walk around in t-shirt and shorts without freezing.
The air is still clean and the water is blue, it’s not yet totally destroyed and it is very appealing for tourists to visit.

Main arena
The first arena we are introduced to is the North Pole. However it is definitely not the
North Pole as we know it today. Everything is nice and clean, the sun is always shining and people love to come here to see and take pictures of all the interesting animal species.
Because of the temperature rising, the ice has started melting extremely fast, everyday the ice shrinks in. Since the ice is getting smaller it’s possible to come very close to the animals. The North Pole has become the most popular tourist attraction for people in the western world.
You are able to sit in t-shirt and shorts with a nice cold slush ice in your hand, watching the exciting animals from the pools at the hotels with all inclusive service. But the exploding tourism is destroying the North Pole even more, the animals’ living conditions are deteriorating as the tourism industry grows bigger and it will not be long before the wild animals are gone.

Backstory
For decades no one has taken the warnings about Global Warming seriously. People have just polluted more and more. Driving big cars instead of using public transportation. Building great factories and cutting down the rain forest. New fast food
chains pop up everywhere, and they are very popular since people are getting more and more busy, having no time to cook at home. This means that the meat industry is growing, and production of meat is now one of the biggest factors when it comes to world pollution. To sum up, everyone is contributing to making this worse instead of taking the common social responsibility that’s necessary to stop it. Only a few eco-activists are trying to stop it, but no one takes them seriously, and they are far from able to change anything. The world is rapidly declining towards total destruction!
We enter this world when great damage has already been made, and it will take more than a Polar Bear and an annoying girl to change it.
